There are two cycles– disapproval (red), and approval(white) — which are fed historical polling percentages throughout the duration of a presidents term. Both cycles are in conflict as they rely on the same path– areas where a dominant color emerges means a majority of opinion is swayed in this direction. The particular shape of the circle itself is formed from peaks and valleys of percentages over time within the administration.
